Who am I ?

Image
I am a Production Engineer, graduated from Faculty of Engineering University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Within my academics I mastered the Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering. Product strategy, Industrial automation, Industry 4.0, Lean, Six sigma, additive manufacturing and the IOT integration in modern industrial world were the milestones in my study which makes me exceptional. I am confident in my capabilities. I have proven my team spirit as a team player as well as a team leader simultaneously with the academics. I have handled the responsibilities playing my role as a committee member as well as leading my colleagues as a students' President of Manufacturing Engineering Association. I have played the role of the coordinator of the editorial committee established to raise the Department funds and played my best in leading my team to success my effectively communicating and co-coordinating the alumni members contributions. I believe the challenges are to be faced and

Environmental condition monitoring unit

Image
Introduction The real-time environmental condition monitoring platform or RECMP is designed with the sole purpose of gathering data of key environmental parameters of the surrounding of the unit, filtering and storing in "Thingspeak" cloud database. The reliability, durability, self-sustainability and the expandability of the system have been specially considered in designing the unit. The system is capable of integrating with an array of Arduino based sensors which could be vastly used in agricultural data gathering purpose. The system is capable of identifying the new sensors with minor adjustments. Finally a well-organized android application has been integrated with the system for easy access to recent data. The initial prototype is integrated with three basic sensor units to gather four key environmental parameters. Duration May 2019 – Present Project description Withering is one of the main steps in tea industry. Here the moisture content is reduced from 80% to 55% in the freshly plucked tea leaves. But in the local industry this is monitored based on the experience of the operators manually which leads for a vast variation in the quality of final product. But through the IOT system we developed the amount of moisture reduction is precisely visualized through an online mobile app which is integrated with the system. The collected data is analyzed and the moisture variation is clearly recognized. The prediction of the moisture reduction also provided through the system for next upcoming hours.
